NCMNS

I did a short but impactful internship with NCMNS where I worked as a graphic designer in the exhibits department. It was in this position I learned how government funded design teams work, the process of sketches to environment, and the importance of the smallest details may make the biggest impact

I started volunteering in the 3D printing lab of NCMNS. I helped to show and explain a variety of things that could be 3D printed as well as small raspberry pie robots

The museum had after hours events where different activities were set up throughout the museum. the activity above was a “printed-to-size” rodent display in which kids could see the wide variety of rodent sizes from the smallest to the largest in the rodent family.

One of the projects that I was a given the opportunity to help with was building the exhibit “Citizen Science” an exhibit built to promote children to incorporate in the documentation of scientific data in their very own back yard. I helped to design a section that was accessible to the blind. I drew three different subjects that could be found in a local NC backyard, once you touch them on the metal plate the 3d model lights up and a movie starts to play on the screen above about that local animal.

This last project was concept designs for a puzzle that children assemble that teaches children about cells and how they combine. These designs were later to be 3D printed.
